Lauren Hill Racist

I can't believe people believe this ****. Lauren Hill never said anything racist in any interview, MTV or otherwise. Seriously - if she did, it would be everywhere on the net. Here's a short article on the history of the rumor.

Please. Treat unsubstantiated facts as fiction.

"Claim: During an MTV interview singer Lauryn Hill said, "I would rather die/have my children starve than have a white person buy one of my albums."

Status: False.

Origins: In 1996 a caller to the Howard Stern show claimed Lauryn Hill of The Fugees made anti-white statements during an MTV interview, to the effect that she rather see her child starve than have a white kid buy her album."

Through her music and lyrics Lauren Hill has shown affiliation with groups such as the Nation of Islam and the Five Percent Nation, the latter I believe she is a member of. The following lyric is taken from "Vocab Hip Hop remix" - Fugees (Refugee Camp) Bootleg Version, 1996, Sony Music Entertainment, Columbia Records, Sony.

Lauryn:

The devil's wishin they could send me back to Mogadishu
pray tell me when's the revolution will begin?
I turn on my TV I check out Farrakhan on CNN see

Prazwell:

I'm forming the cipher fly East to the Five Percenter
Knowledge is born, to all beginners (reference to droppin science to the 85s)

Wyclef:

I loved P.E., they kept me concious of what I was saying
Afrika Bambaata, Poor Righteous Teacher
Got within myself so it made me a Five Percenter

For those of you who are not aware, The 5 Percent Nation preach that the white race (or devils) are the resultant of an experiment preformed 6000 years ago by an evil scientist named Yakub. His experiment (the white devils) then proceeded to force the black race into oppression. They believe that the black race is not only superior by nature, but they (the 5% Nation, and the 5% of the worlds people who are enlightened by the knowledge and truth) shall one day rise up and free the other 85% of the oppressed people of the world, from the devilish oppression of the remaining 10% (the white race). The 5% Nation is an offshoot group formed by a disgruntled member of the Nation of Islam, who was not content to pay homage to a god (Master Farad, most likely of Arabian decent) who was very light skinned. This persons name was Clarence 13X, he then changed his name to Allah...

If Lauren Hill and many of todays so called "superstars" of rap are not racist, then why do they pay homage to these racist cults? Reverse Racism is a myth, and is used as an excuse by oppressed minorities to fight back using racist doctrine of their own!

Racism is not ok, and I urge anybody who is opposed to racism to seriously consider that some of these rappers they listen too, are in fact racist or affiliate themselves with ideologies that are so, and should be condemned for their actions! If a white musician of credible stature was found to be a member of the KKK or of the Church of the Creator, or released music that affiliated with white racist doctrine.. he or she would be burnt to a cinder by critics, yet it appears for black racists and supporters of black racist ideology, there is a double standard! The following is a list of musicians you should consider your subscription too, and if in doubt do some research for yourself...

- Ice Cube (member of NOI)
- Mc Ren (member of NOI)
- Public Enemy (Chuck D is a member of NOI)
- Lauren Hill (racist lyrics and member of the 5% Nation)
- Paris (racist lyrics in affiliation to NOI and Louis Farrakhan)
- The Fugees (racist lyrics in affiliation to Louis Farrakhan)
- Lady Mecca (member of the 5% nation)
- Poor Righteous Teachers (members of the 5% Nation)
- Brand Nubian (members of the 5% Nation)
- Guru (from Gang Starr - member of the 5% Nation)
- Wu Tang Clan (members of the 5% Nation)
- Busta Rhymes (member of the 5% Nation)
- Rakim (member of the 5% Nation)
- Big Daddy Kane (member of the 5% Nation)
- Digable Planets (members of the 5% Nation)
- Mobb Deep (members of the 5% Nation)
- Nas (member of the 5% Nation)

Before anybody wishes to abuse me calling me derogatory names ... I am myself of a mixed race background of black/asian but I am firmly against racism of any person. It is time that the world stood up and said "you know what Lauren, dont let your kids die, we dont want to buy your racist records"!

:peace to all pplz of the world:

Renz thank you for attempting to educate many I have a bit of a question. Your quoting lyrics from 1996 are you saying that in a 10 year time frame that Lauryn or any of those others could not have repented of/and changed their beliefs? I know some will say that a leapord cant change it's spots or a zebra its stripes but they have not the free will of man. Thank you for your time. May you always be blessed and continue to bless.

During a concert in my town in Norway, she demanded her bodyguards be black, not white. And that was actually witnessed by several people.

great points you made, and the thing i find so ironic it that many non-black folks were/are the people who purchase so much of these artists music, concert tickets etc. they have got major support from non-african american peoples. The Roots have commented many times on how their audiences are mostly white kids. not that they had a problem with this, but just to make a point that they dont get the same support from their own. interesting.

in reference to the comment that said lauren cant be rasist because she is with rohan marley who is part white, i guess this person does not know that in general, in the black community, if you have any black in you, then your are moslty considered black, especially if that person identifies with so called black culture.

The Nation of Islam and The Nation of Gods and Earths are not one on the same, you foolish imbecile! I am a 5-Percenter, (Earth), member of the Nations of Gods and Earths and it is the Nation of Islam, not "us" that teach that foolishness of the mad scientist that created the white race. Racism is prevalent and always will be though, justifying our unity and what we stand against is not reverse racism. I use the term white devils in my poetry all the time, but I only speak of a certain group of white people in doing so, not the entire race "as a whole." Also, I'm sure some white people are able to differentiate between a "nigger" "nigga", and regular-middle class-black citizen
