Leonard Cohen

"Only one thing made him happy, and now that it was gone, everything made him happy."

Leonard Cohen

The above quote is from this excellent interview with Leonard Cohen, conducted by Norwegian Radio. You can read the transcript here.

Flickr Rocks

You can find some pretty amazing photos at Flickr, the photo community. Check out some of my favorites:

this in-your-face-little girl.

this aboriginal guy.

this beautiful girl.

this Newman-eyed girl.

this indian kid with paint in his face (it's so Benetton).

this amazingly-eyed girl (I love you!).

this cute kid.

And alot of praise to Peter Bower for nature-shots like this and this, and to Stoneth for taking people-snaps like these homeless people.

Mailinator

Mailinator is incredibly useful. Oftentimes a site ask for your mail adress, and you really don't want to give it. Then you put in

'whatever@mailinator.com'

and open www.mailinator.com in a new tab/window. Input 'whatever' and access the open mailaccount which is created as mail arrives, and deleted at a couple of hours intervals. No password. Open your acknowledgement mail. Presto.

Mental Calculation

For the matematically inclined, this article from Wikipedia on Mental Calculations has some good info on how to do calculation in your head. The methods I liked the most are Indirect calculation, Using square numbers, 9 and 3 rules, Approximating square roots and Squaring numbers near X.

This article on calculating the day of the week of a given date is really good. It taught me how to calculate the day of the week of a given date.

Google Maps

Begge i forbavsende høj kvalitet.

SkypeCast

This one is sweet. Skypecast is the name of the new feature in Skype v2.5: up to 100 people on the line with a moderator "passing along the microphone". Truly fascinating range of possibilities. This one is hot off the wire.

DevilFinder

DevilFinder is an excellent search engine with regards to images and to some degree video as well. It lacks the porno filters of Google, so be warned. It is powerful.
