"Ære" er ikke et begreb, der har større betydning i Danmark, siger man. Men sådan forholder det sig ikke - æren har blot skiftet navn til "anerkendelse", siger prof. Ole Thyssen i bogen "Krigeren, borgeren og taberen", som han har skrevet sammen med sociologen Henrik Dahl. Vi søger anerkendelse mange steder i samfundet, hos staten, på arbejdspladsen og i famlien.
