The Amen Break

"This fascinating, brilliant 20-minute video narrates the history of the "Amen Break," a six-second drum sample from the b-side of a chart-topping single from 1969. This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music -- a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison's 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip."
Thanks Pato for the clip tip.

Eavesdrop

I really like the idea of the CD Eavesdrop: A Wealth Of Found Sound:

"Eavesdrop: A Wealth Of Found Sound is a collection of anonymous recordings found at thrift stores, yard sales, and in trash bins over the past four years. These unaltered tracks come from audio or micro-cassettes, 8-Tracks and home-recorded records. Many of the clips are segments from audio diaries, tape-letters, the sound of road trips, fights, crying, family moments, telephone conversations/messages, or the amusements of children or the mentally handicapped."

Cinemateket/Filmhusets Still-Foto Samling

Cheap Business Cards

Making business cards from digital photographs made with Photoshop, and printed by online photo printing sites is a nice method of creating high-quality, full-colour, cheap business cards - and other promotional paperware. I totally do it. Danish readers can go to Digital Foto Online and find the cheapest price for a given amount and format. I made this design, two on top of each other, and cut the photo in half:

Oh, yes

being alone
but it often takes decades
to realize this
and most often
when you do
it's too late
and there's nothing worse
than

6 Years In the Life of a Guy Called Noah

This guy Noah took a photo of himself everyday for some 6 years and edited the pictures as a high speed slideshow. I think the combination of the steady look in his eyes, his slowly changing face, the high speed environment changes and the excellent original piano soundtrack is very expressive. Paper Eleven

I have finally found the manga style I have been looking for in Paper Eleven, a clone.manga project. The artwork is perfect for framing and the complete series is free to download! The plot is as follows:

"14-year-old Maya survives a terrible train accident only to find herself in a strange world where people, places, and souls are made of paper. Now, hunted and alone, she has 11 days to find the bodies, reconstruct the accident, and return home."

Thanks a lot to SimonOfDenmark for the tip.
